La Axarquia, county situated on the eastern part of Málaga, unknown for many, hides a privilegiated historic artistic scenery, either in its capital, Vélez Málaga or in the best of the villages that form it.

Alhama de Granada its name comes from an arab word which means “ HOT WATER” and tells us about the places where the waters flow. Placed over the cliffs over the river, Alhama has a clear arab influence. Its origins are mixed with the first use of its hot water facilities, and its strategical placement made its fall in the catholic armis´hands a decisive fact for the fall of all the muslim kingdom of Granada, what meant a period of healthyness  , thanks to the catholic kings.

Next to the urban centre, by the river also – called Merchan – we have a big park, that holds in two spas.
